Description

Ruth Evelyn Hammond was a painter born in Connecticut, who lived in Brunswick, Maine, and exhibited actively in New England, where she was a member of several artists’ organizations. She earned a B.A. at Mt. Holyoke College, and studied at the Yale Graduate School of Art and with Dante Ricci in Rome, Italy. Among her exhibition credits are the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Alliance of American Artists, National Association of Women Artists, Deerfield Academy, and Mt. Holyoke College Museum.
